Andriy Kobolyev: energy security of Ukraine to be guaranteed via efficiency and new supply routes

June 23, 2014, Kyiv — From 20 to 34 million cubic meters of gas are being accumulated in Ukrainian underground storage facilities daily, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolyev told at press conference on Monday.
High rates of gas accumulation were achieved thanks to seasonal demand, as well as at the expense of gas supplies from Europe.

"All engineering obstacles to gas supplies from the European Union have been removed. The Eustream company is collecting bids for gas supplies to Ukraine. Supplies through Slovakia are likely to start in September, but not later than in October," Naftogaz’s CEO said.

According to Andriy Kobolyev, along with the negotiations on further intensification of gas supplies from Europe, the Ukrainian Government is completing the preparation of a number of measures aimed at reduction of gas consumption in Ukraine. The package of such measures will be published at the earliest possible time.
