On Monday 20 May, Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev participated in a meeting between new Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and an official U.S. delegation headed by Energy Secretary Rick Perry.
The Ukrainian participants expressed their appreciation for U.S. support in the fields of national and energy security.
The parties discussed energy cooperation between Ukraine and the U.S., including gas production and retaining Ukraine’s gas transit potential. Another important focus was Ukraine’s preparations for the next heating season and funding for sufficient gas stocks in the country's UGS facilities. Meeting participants also considered the creation of a sustainable route for LNG imports to Ukraine through the regasification terminal in Poland.
Ukraine was also represented by Oleksandr Danyliuk, Ruslan Ryaboshapka, Olena Zerkal and Vadym Prystaiko.
The American delegation was led by U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry and included U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker and Senator Ron Johnson.
