Andriy Favorov, former ERU (Energy Resources of Ukraine) CEO and managing partner, will be appointed as head of Naftogaz’s integrated gas business. He will have responsibility for Naftogaz group’s gas production, wholesale trading and retail activities.

“Naftogaz is paving the way for historic change in our country. It is a complex task, but by working at Naftogaz, one can improve the situation in Ukraine substantially. This is why I was happy to accept this offer and join the Naftogaz team,” commented Andriy Favorov on his appointment.
To eliminate any conflict of interest, Andriy Favorov is selling his stake in ERU to other partners and has stepped down from the company’s management.

“Besides being Ukraine’s biggest taxpayer, Naftogaz should also become a client-oriented company offering high quality services to its customers. We decided to reinforce our team with a high-profile expert form the private sector,” Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev noted.

Background: Andriy Favorov worked as chief commercial officer at DTEK energy holding (Kyiv) between September 2010 and July 2014 and as business development director at ContourGlobal (Kyiv) between May 2009 and July 2010. Prior to that, he held managerial positions with AES Corporation. In 2005, Andriy Favorov obtained an MBA from Georgetown University (Washington D.C.).
