On 2 March 2007 Yevgen Bakulin was appointed Chairman of the Board of the state-owned company Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Yevgen Bakulin joined Ukrainian petroleum industry almost 30 years ago. In 1984 he started his career with LiNOS refinery as a crude processing unit operator and has been working for LiNOS for 18 years. Since 1993 as a Chief Engineer and Deputy Chairman of the Board Yevgen Bakulin has led the company through major reorganizations. In 2001 he became LiNOS’s General Director and ruled the refinery for almost two years.

Since June 2003 until March 2005 Y.Bakulin has occupied a post of General Director of Ukrgazvydobuvannya, Naftogaz of Ukraine’s principal upstream subsidiary. In September 2006 Yevgen Bakulin returned to Ukrgazvydobuvannya and headed the company until his recent appointment.

Yevgen Bakulin was born in Kstovo, Russia, in 1956. He has two degrees – one in management from Slavic International University of Management, Business and Law and another in hydrocarbons processing chemical technology from East-Ukraine National University. In 2002 he was awarded with a medal “For merits” of the third level. Yevgen Bakulin is married and has two children.
