Naftogaz Group’s Andriivka Solar Power Plant (SPP) in Balaklia district (Kharkiv region) has begun operating.
Andriivka SPP is a pilot project of the New Energy business division, which is responsible for the technical and regulatory analysis of renewables development within the Group.
The plant’s capacity is 0.999 MW.
Equipment and construction services have been purchased through competitive bidding via the Prozorro system. Most of materials used in the construction of the plant are manufactured in Ukraine.
Green tariffs apply to the plant starting from July 2020.
“Renewables are one of Naftogaz Group’s priorities. This approach is in line with global energy trends. The enterprises of Naftogaz Group already use solar panels as a supplementary energy source on their administrative buildings. This experience helped us implement renewables projects and successfully commercialize the Andriivka plant. The regulator’s constructive decision to grant us licenses for electricity generation is a new page in the success story of our company,” commented Serhii Ovcharenko, the manager of the project.
Further plans in the area of green energy projects include the completion of a significantly more powerful solar plant in Zhytomyr region this September, and the development of charging stations in Kyiv.
