Naftogaz to appoint Paweł Stańczak as Ukrtransgaz president

Mr. Stańczak has more than 25 years of experience in gas transmission, distribution and storage businesses. With PGNiG, he was in charge of the unbundling process and the establishment of Gaz-System S.A.

Naftogaz supervisory board has unanimously approved the appointment of Paweł Józef Stańczak as president of Ukrtransgaz, the Ukrainian gas transmission system operator (TSO). The decision will be effected by Naftogaz as a 100% shareholder of Ukrtransgaz in accordance with the companies’ charters.

Mr. Stańczak has more than 25 years of experience in gas transmission, distribution and storage businesses. With PGNiG, he was in charge of the unbundling process and the establishment of Gaz-System S.A., Poland’s independent TSO, in 2003-2004. He continued to serve as a Technical Director – Member of the Board of Gaz-System until 2008, being responsible for developing and implementing investment plans, daily maintenance of the transmission system, coordinating permitting and licensing processes with relevant state regulators and authorities.

At present, Mr. Stańczak works as Technical Director – Member of the Board in PGNiG Technologie S.A., being responsible for design and construction of new gas pipelines.

Born in 1963, Mr. Stańczak got his first engineering degree at the Warsaw University of Technology. Later, he continued his training at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). After few years received MBA diplomas from Leon Koźmiński Academy Of Entrepreneurship and Management (Warsaw) and University of Bradford.
