Naftogaz has withdrawn Yuriy Vitrenko as the shareholder representative on the Ukrnafta supervisory board and appointed Mykola Havrylenko, head of the Oil Business Unit of Naftogaz Group

Naftogaz has withdrawn Yuriy Vitrenko as the shareholder representative on the Ukrnafta supervisory board and appointed Mykola Havrylenko, head of the Oil Business Unit of Naftogaz Group.

CFO Peter van Driel is responsible for further cooperation between Naftogaz and Ukrnafta.
Since January 2020, Ukrtransnafta CEO Mykola Havrylenko has been leading the Oil Business Unit, which includes oil transportation and refining assets of Naftogaz Group.

“Yuriy Vitrenko has significantly contributed to the dialogue between the shareholders in order to restore Ukrnafta to health. We are sure that Mykola Havrylenko’s experience and skills will help solve the remaining issues effectively, including disputed gas volumes and outstanding tax debt,” Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev commented on the change.

As agreed in 2019, Naftogaz bought 2.06 bcm of gas produced in 2006 from Ukrnafta. Payment should be made following compensation for loss from public service obligations. Naftogaz will also pay in advance for gas to be produced by Ukrnafta during future periods.

Ukrnafta will use the resultant funds to pay its tax debt, fines and penalties.
