NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine resumes the work of its own network of gas filling stations

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine resumes its presence on the retail market of oil products. Five GFS in Kharkiv region have been put into operation by the Company – this is the first step on the way to creating a full-fledged proprietary network of gas filling stations. By putting new GFS into operation the Company re-incorporates within its structure the complete operating cycle including the exploration, development and processing of hydrocarbons as well as direct marketing of them to the end consumer.

The capacity of each GFS under operation of the SC Ukrgasproduction is 84 thousand vehicles per annum. All GFS newly put into operation are equipped with modern double-sided fuel filling columns Scheidt&Bachmann MZ-6008, designed to work with four types of products. Each column is further equipped with 8 fuel nose units, there are two of such columns on each GFS. On each GFS there is also one double-sided express fuel-filling column Scheidt&Bachmann MZ-800 HZ for one type of product, designed for servicing road-trains.

In the new GFS of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine the principle of locating columns for compressed gas supply right among the regular fuel-filling columns has been introduced for the first time in Ukraine. Special emphasis is laid on maintaining high ecological and production safety standards. All columns are fitted with vapor recovery systems, which prevent the escape of oil products, thus maintaining a high safety level on the GFS.

The presence of a government-owned Company on the retail market of oil products will allow the implementation of economical methods for regulating the pricing for fuel as well as to avoid critical situations bought about by fuel deficit. The priority regions for further development of the GFS network are Poltava and Kharkiv regions, which is conditioned by the fact that the Company’s largest gas-processing plant – Shebelinka GPP – is located there.
