Ukrgasvydobuvannya, the gas upstream subsidiary of Naftogaz, has ranked #1 in the list of Ukraine’s largest taxpayers in Q1 2016, while Naftogaz as a holding company has reached the second position. The ranking was released yesterday and is based on the State Tax Administration data.
Another group company, the country’s major oil producer Ukrnafta, ranked #6 making it the third company of Naftogaz group in the top 10 of the largest taxpayers in Ukraine.
The gas and oil transmission subsidiaries of Naftogaz, namely, Ukrtransgaz and Ukrtransnafta, ranked #26 and #29, respectively.
Tax amounts paid by Naftogaz group companies have grown 1.4 to 7 times year on year during the 1Q.
“Our team has taken over Naftogaz with a reputation of a "black hole of the Ukrainian economy". Now we have eventually gained a status of the country's largest tax payer and state budget net donor. This change is inspirational. The money will not be wasted in corrupt activities anymore. It can now be used to finance the Ukrainian army and socially important projects,” said Andriy Kobolyev, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
