Gas supplies to anti-terrorist operation zone stopped because of infrastructure damage

Supplies to Europe entirely unaffected

Gas supplies to the anti-terrorist operation zone in southeastern Ukraine have been stopped from 18 February due to numerous attacks leading to critical damage to gas transmission infrastructure.

Resumption of gas supply is being made impossible because of the ongoing active hostilities in the region. Ukrainian gas transmission system operator Ukrtransgaz reiterates its readiness to begin work on the restoration of damaged infrastructure as soon as its employees can work without endangering their lives.

The damage to the pipeline does not in any way affect natural gas transit to Europe. Pipelines carrying gas to Europe through the territory of Ukraine are located outside the anti-terrorist operation zone.
