PricewaterhouseCoopers Polska Sp. z o.o. becomes Naftogaz adviser on gas transmission unbundling projects

PricewaterhouseCoopers Polska Sp. z o.o. (Poland) won the tender for unbundling advisory services with its bidding proposal of USD 341.2 thousand. Naftogaz and PwC Polska Sp. z o.o. signed the relevant agreement on 9 June.

Two companies – The Boston Consulting Group Sp. z o.o. and PwC Polska Sp. z o.o. – qualified to the final stage of the tender. The proposal of the latter was the most competitive.

Two more participants – GmbH Roland Berger and ZIFF-IVIN ASSOCIATES LTD – submitted their proposals but failed to make it to the evaluation stage because of non-compliance with tender requirements. The expected value of the purchase amounted to almost USD 938.8 thousand.

The services shall be provided by 31 December 2017. The adviser shall do the following: develop and implement a detailed unbundling plan in time, provide hands-on recommendations and facilitate informed decisions during the unbundling process.

PwC Polska Sp. z o.o. has participated in unbundling processes in Poland, Greece and Germany.

Background information:

On 1 July 2016, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Resolution “On the unbundling of natural gas transmission and storage (injection and withdrawal)” #496. The Resolution approves Naftogaz restructuring plan aimed at the unbundling of gas transmission and storage.
