The meeting between the Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine Oleg Dubyna, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko and the Chairman of the Board of Gazprom Alexey Miller has been held in Kyiv today.
During the meeting the parties have summarized the results of cooperation for the first half of 2008 and also acknowledged that cooperation between the companies has been developing dynamically and constructively. Alexey Miller confirmed that 2008 gas deliveries to Ukraine would be fulfilled completely, as per the Agreement for Gas Industry Relations Development. Oleg Dubyna emphasized that transit of Russian gas via the territory of Ukraine is currently being done in volumes, exceeding the planned ones.
The parties have discussed the issues related to preparation of long-term contract for gas supplies to Ukraine in 2009 and subsequent years.
Reference: In March 2008 Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine signed the Agreement for Gas Industry Relations Development.
In 2008 Ukraine will be supplied by not less than 55 bcm of natural gas from Central and Middle Asia for the price of $179.5 per 1 thousand cm. Currently, Naftogaz of Ukraine is the gas purchaser at the Ukrainian border.
Pursuant to the Agreement, starting from May 1, 2008, the direct gas supplies to Ukraine’s industrial customers, in the volume of 7.5 bcm, are being done by Gazprom fully owned subsidiary Gazprom Zbut Ukraine Ltd.
