Naftogaz of Ukraine utilized exclusively unsecured loans in 2005

In 2005, Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC utilized two tranches from the credit facility extended by Deutsche Bank AG. This loan is unsecured, i.e. it was extended without any pledge on the part of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC. The total volume of credit funds obtained by Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC under the credit facility of Deutsche Bank AG in 2005, was USD 600,000,000.

Trances from the credit facility of Deutsche Bank AG were the first loans extended to a Ukrainian resident on such terms, evidencing the foreign investors’ trust in Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC and the entire Ukraine.

Reference: A financing agreement between Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC and Deutsche Bank AG was signed on March 8, 2005 by Oleksiy Ivchenko, Chairman of the Management Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC, and Tessen von Heydebreck, member of the Board of Deutsche Bank AG. The agreement provides for the extending a loan by Deutsche Bank to Naftogaz of Ukraine, to the total amount of EUR 2 billion
