Ukrtransgaz, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system, along with its Slovakian counterpart Eustream a.s. launched test natural gas supplies from Slovakia to Ukraine.

According to the latest data from Ukrtransgaz' central dispatching department, daily testing-mode gas supplies will amount to two million cubic meters.

"On-schedule natural gas supply tests from Slovakia once again confirm the professionalism and technical expertise of our employees. I sincerely thank all those, who endeavored to implement the project. In the future, Ukrtransgaz will face numerous strategic challenges and I am sure we will succeed by working together," Ukrtransgaz’ board chairman Ihor Prokopiv said.

Last week, Ukrtransgaz independently and at its own expense completed a project establishing technical capability to accept natural gas from Slovakia.

As earlier reported, Ukrtransgaz and Eustream a.s. signed a Memo of mutual understanding on April 28, 2014 regarding reverse flow gas supplies to Ukraine.
