Gazprom OJSC has reduced four times of the planned natural gas volumes for transit to Europe

The NJSC «Naftogaz of Ukraine» hereby declares the considerable reduction of the Russian transit gas supply volumes. Natural gas volumes supply reduction started at 03:00 a.m. as per Kyiv time. As of 06:00 o'clock in the morning, 06th of January, 2009 the Russian transit gas supplies at the border «Russia – Ukraine» has amounted to 92 million cubic meters a day, as of 08:00 o'clock a.m. they have been 81 million cubic meters a day, as of 10:00 o'clock a.m. they have reduced to 73.8 million cubic meters a day. Thus, in comparison with the Russian transit gas supplies volumes as of 10:00 a.m., 05th of January, 2009, which had amounted to 314.6 million cubic meters a day, the Russian gas supplies volumes have now reduced more that four times.

At the same time, the supplies volumes from Ukraine to European countries as of 6:00 a.m. have amounted to 94 million cubic meters a day, as of 08:00 a.m. they have been 77.7 million cubic meters a day and as of 10:00 in the morning they have amounted to 82.1 million cubic meters a day. In such a way Ukraine at its own expense and from its own reserves has been transiting the Russian gas volumes to the countries of Europe.

Moreover, Gazprom OJSC Gas Dispatch Control Divisions unilaterally stopped communications with the NJSC «Naftogaz of Ukraine» Gas Dispatch Control Divisions. Our Company announces the full incomprehension of Gazporm OJSC' actions aimed to reduction of natural gas supplies volumes to Europe.

Consequently, Gazprom OJSC once again for the last several days has deliberately refused implementation of its obligations to the European partners.

The NJSC «Naftogaz of Ukraine» hereby officially announces that all the claims regarding reduction of natural gas supplies volumes have to be addressed to Gazprom Open JSC.
