Today, NaftoGaz Ukrainy NJSC Chairman of the Board Volodymyr Sheludchenko held a meeting with a delegation of the Energy Charter, headed by its Secretary General Andre Mernier. The delegation visited the Metrological Center in the town of Boyarka.
In the course of the meeting the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between NaftoGaz Ukrainy NJSC and the Secretariat of the Energy Charter in the areas of natural gas transportation, transit, storage and dispatching; implementation and improvement of gas metering systems, energy saving in the gas industry and at the consumer’s end.
While exchanging proposals relating to joint projects to be implemented in the near future, Volodymyr Sheludchenko and Andre Mernier discussed in detail the question of finishing the Metrological Center in Boyarka.
“Once completed, the Metrological Center will place Ukraine among the countries which have modern gas metering technologies,“ said Volodymyr Sheludchenko at the meeting and added, “It will be one of the most powerful centers of its kind in the world. Apart from Ukraine, its services will be available to the countries of Eastern and Western Europe, the CIS and Russia.”
“Ukraine is a reliable partner as regards transit of natural gas to the European Union,” said Energy Charter Secretary General Andre Mernier, “Ukrainian oil and gas specialists have proved again and again the high degree of their professionalism.”
NaftoGaz Ukrainy NJSC Chairman of the Board Volodymyr Sheludchenko and Energy Charter Secretary General Andre Mernier agreed to expand the cooperation in energy-related issues.
