Ukraine transmitted 206 mcm of gas to the EU and Moldova on 25 November 2015 in line with orders

According to data of Ukrtransgaz, Ukraine’s gas transmission system operator, during the gas day of 25 November 2015 Ukraine transmitted 205.9 mcm of gas to the EU and Moldova.

According to data of Ukrtransgaz, Ukraine’s gas transmission system operator, during the gas day of 25 November 2015 Ukraine transmitted 205.9 mcm of gas to the EU and Moldova. The orders for transmission through cross-border points at the country’s Western border amounted to 205.1 mcm for the day. The orders were satisfied in full.

Ukraine’s gas transmission system is capable of delivering up to 444 mcm of gas a day in the direction of the EU and Moldova. During the gas day of 25 November 2015, these capacities were utilized by 46%.

Background information

During the nine months of 2015, Gazprom supplied 115.4 bcm of gas to Western, Central and Eastern Europe (including Turkey and Moldova, excluding Ukraine, Belarus, Finland and the Baltics). Of this amount, 48.4 bcm, or more than 40%, were transmitted through Ukraine.

The existing technical capacity for transmitting Russian gas in the direction of Western, Central and Eastern Europe (including Turkey and Moldova, excluding Ukraine, Belarus, Finland and the Baltics) was utilized by nearly 60% in the aggregate. The discussed expansion of the Nord Stream transmission route would increase the unutilized capacity by 1.5 times.
