Key plans include gradually reducing operational gas losses, cutting methane emissions, developing the Group’s own power generation capacity, and introducing new low-carbon solutions. These measures are expected to be implemented across the gas production and distribution sectors. Our long-term goal is to achieve net-zero emissions from our in-house operations and purchased energy by 2050, which is synchronised with the climate neutrality target set out in the Law of Ukraine “On the Basic Principles of State Climate Policy”, and aligned with the approaches set out in European climate laws.
The steps set out in the strategy will help establish an effective framework for the responsible management of state-owned assets. New energy solutions should enhance the Group’s efficiency and create value for the state,” said Duncan Nightingale, Chairman of Naftogaz Supervisory Board.
The adoption of a decarbonisation strategy is part of the company’s development in line with Ukraine’s European integration path.
