Russia attacks Kherson CHP with a glide bomb

Russian forces struck Naftogaz Group-operated Kherson CHP with a glide bomb.

As a result of the attack, the city’s main source of heating has sustained serious damage. Experts will be able to assess the full extent of the damage as soon as the security situation allows.

Kherson CHP is an exclusively civilian facility, and its primary purpose is to supply heat to the city’s residents. The strike on the plant serves no military purpose whatsoever. This is yet another deliberate attack by Russia on critical infrastructure and on the people who depend on it. Throughout 2026, the CHP has already come under dozens of Russian attacks, but today’s strike has caused extensive damage. We are coordinating our further actions with the local authorities and relevant services,” said acting Naftogaz CEO Sergii Fedorenko.

The Kherson CHP provides heating to the city’s residents and has repeatedly been targeted by Russian forces.
