Russia attacks Naftogaz gas production facilities in Kharkiv Region for the third consecutive day

Over the past three days, Russia has deliberately attacked Naftogaz Group’s gas production facilities in Kharkiv Region.

On Sunday, a fire broke out following a strike on one of the production assets. Rescue workers from the State Emergency Service promptly put it out. The damaged equipment had to be shut down, resulting in a temporary loss of gas production.

On Monday morning, the enemy attacked another facility. Extensive damage has been reported. The company’s specialists are assessing the extent of the damage and the possibility of restoring the equipment to working order.

During both attacks, staff were in shelters. There were no casualties.

Russia is deliberately targeting facilities that supply the country with gas in order to disrupt our winter preparations and cause problems during the heating season. Naftogaz Group is doing everything possible to minimise the impact of the attacks on our country and to ensure sufficient gas supplies. I would like to thank the State Emergency Service rescue teams for their swift response and for extinguishing the fire. Our specialists are already assessing the damage caused by the strikes and will do everything possible to restore the damaged facilities to working order,” said Sergii Fedorenko, Acting CEO of Naftogaz.
