Russia attacks Naftogaz Group’s Kherson CHP with four glide bombs: all generating equipment out of service

Overnight, Russian troops launched a second attack on Naftogaz Group-operated Kherson CHP. The plant’s premises were struck by four guided aerial bombs.

As a result of the attack, the CHP sustained critical damage. All heat-generating and power-generating equipment remaining at the plant is completely destroyed and inoperable.

Kherson CHP is an exclusively civilian critical infrastructure facility. The plant has already been targeted by Russian attacks on numerous occasions.

Russians struck an exclusively civilian facility that supplies heat to a significant proportion of Kherson’s residential buildings. This attack makes no military sense. Its sole aim is to terrorise the civilians and to deprive tens of thousands Kherson residents of their source of heat ahead of the heating season," said Acting CEO Sergii Fedorenko.

During the attack, staff were in shelters.
