Donetskoblgaz restored gas supply to 45,400 households and 131 boiler plants in Donetsk region

Over 45,400 households, 18 enterprises, and 131 boiler plants in Donetsk region have already had gas supply resumed after being completely cut off for five months. This became possible thanks to the diligent teamwork of JSC “Donetskoblgaz”, a Naftogaz Group member.

Resuming the gas supply in Donetsk region is the result, without any exaggeration, of the heroic efforts of all those involved, especially the employees of Donetskoblgaz. Despite constant shelling and danger to their own lives, they are returning gas supply to the region on the eve of the heating season,” Naftogaz CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov commented.

Donetskoblgaz has already received a total of 48,700 connection applications from household consumers, 287 from non-household consumers, and 143 for boiler plants.

We have already fulfilled 93% of applications for households and 91.6% for boiler plants seeking connection. This is a good rate, especially considering heavy damage to the system caused by shelling, as well as the fact that there has been no gas for almost six months. I thank my colleagues who work day and night to make sure that Donetsk region has heat as soon as possible,” Donetskoblgaz head Vadym Batii stated.

A total of 55 connection crews featuring 109 specialists are currently working in Donetsk region. The Donetskoblgaz team has been assisted by experts from JSC “Kirovogradgaz”, another member of Naftogaz Group.

42 towns and villages of the region have regained gas supply. The work on reconnecting all consumers in these settlements is underway. Eight company subscriber servicing offices are open for local residents. Clients may find out more via the link:

We recall that on 23 May 2022, due to damage to the main gas pipeline and lack of alternative sources of natural gas transmission to Donetsk region, Donetskoblgaz was forced to stop the distribution of natural gas to consumers (except for residents of Komarska and Oleksandrivska amalgamated territorial communities).

For five months, specialists have been working on re-enabling gas deliveries to Donetsk region. On 5 October 2022, Donetskoblgaz announced gradual resumption of gas supplies in Donetsk region.
