Oleksiy Chernyshov: Norway’s Equinor has supplied methanol to Ukrgasvydobuvannya to ensure stable gas production

Norwegian Energy Company Equinor has supplied 2,000 tons of methanol to the Naftogaz Group’s Ukrgasvydobuvannya.

Methanol is a critical material for the production, treatment, and transportation of natural gas, and it has already been delivered to Ukraine. We are very grateful to our partners for their assistance in such a difficult time for Ukraine," Naftogaz Group CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov noted.

The supply of methanol is supported by the European Commission's Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) within the framework of the European Union's civil protection mechanism and the Energy Community Secretariat's Ukraine Support Task Force (ECS-USTF).

Supplying 2,000 tons of methanol required complex logistics solutions. For the first time in the history of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, this raw material was delivered from Europe by rail.

We have been maintaining professional contacts with Equinor for several years. We look forward to further deepening our cooperation to ensure the energy stability in Europe," commented Oleh Tolmachev, Acting CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya.

As previously reported, Ukrgasvydobuvannya received 6,000 tons of methanol from USAID.
