International customers actively storing gas at Ukraine’s UGS facilities

Given that European storage facilities are 79.4% full, Ukraine’s UGS facilities are actively storing gas from international gas storage customers.

More than 1,000 companies from 29 countries worldwide are currently using Ukraine’s UGS facilities to store gas in the Customs Warehouse mode. This season, Ukraine is offering its customers and partners over 10 bcm of the underground gas storage facilities”, noted Naftogaz Group CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov.

Ukraine’s gas storage facilities also offer their customers competitive tariffs for blue fuel storage. The tariff policy for international partners regarding gas storage in Ukrainian gas storage facilities will remain unchanged throughout the current gas withdrawal season.

Our gas storage facilities have sufficient capacity reserves to inject significant volumes of gas. Our customers can continue storing gas in the Customs Warehouse mode for 3 years free of customs clearance. This is yet another advantage of Ukraine’s UGS facilities,” added Interim Director General of JSC Ukrtransgaz Roman Maliutin.

Background: Ukrtransgaz becomes the second gas storage operator in Europe to successfully pass certification under new EU rules.
