Naftogaz helps solve shortage of petroleum products in Ukraine

National Joint Stock Company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” is building up the import of petroleum products. In line with these efforts, 2 kt of diesel were imported in May 2022 and 5.6 kt in June. 15.6 kt have been contracted for July, 4 kt of which is gasoline. The key importing country is the Republic of Poland.

“Provision of Ukraine with fuel is a matter of national security as well as economic and social stability. The dynamics is positive – from month to month, Naftogaz is increasing the volume of imported fuel almost threefold. If such rates are maintained, Naftogaz will be able to become a market leader yet in the coming months,” says Naftogaz CEO Yurii Vitrenko.

The main challenge the national company and other importers are facing is logistical restrictions on the delivery of petroleum products from large ports in Europe to the border of Ukraine.

The petroleum products imported by National Joint Stock Company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” do not include volumes transited by oil pipeline for other importers.
