Integration of global standards is not only about technical requirements — it is about improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of the entire sector. Cooperation with API gives us insight to leading industry practices and enables Ukrainian professionals to contribute to the development of global standards,” commented Naftogaz’s CEO Sergii Koretskyi.
The memorandum establishes a framework for cooperation in standardization, certification, and technical exchange. With more than a century of standards development experience, API standards are widely recognized throughout the global oil and natural gas industry.
Collaboration with Naftogaz reflects the ongoing importance of global standards in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient energy development. By expanding the use of API standards and encouraging participation in their development, this cooperation helps strengthen Ukraine’s energy security and infrastructure,” said Dustin Meyer, Senior Vice President, Policy, Economics, & Regulatory Affairs at the American Petroleum Institute.
Key areas of cooperation include enabling Naftogaz Group experts to study and apply API standards, supporting the exchange of information on applicable standards, certifications, and technologies, as well as expanding use of leading industry practices.
The memorandum also envisages the participation of Naftogaz specialists in the development of API standards.
