The event was also attended by representatives of the Government, the NEURC, members of the Parliament, and local authorities.
We need to create conditions under which the DHCs would be able operate sustainably and start the heating season on time. We cannot consider the difference in tariffs as a separate issue. This matter must be addressed comprehensively. It is not just about repaying debts, but forming a comprehensive policy that will clear the industry of accumulated imbalances and establish new rules and approaches,” Oleksii Kuleba said.
Special attention was paid to frontline regions, which are objectively in a difficult situation and require comprehensive solutions, including state support.
At the same time, we must be frank: there are frequent cases when local authorities deliberately do not pay for the gas supplied. It happens even in regions that are stable from a security point of view. In such regions, some enterprises operate responsibly, while others deliberately allow debts to accumulate. This is unfair to all consumers who, despite difficult conditions, pay their bills responsibly. We are going to work with the Government to consistently combat this phenomenon. This is a matter of stable operation of the entire energy system in wartime,” commented Koretskyi.
Naftogaz’s CEO also thanked the President, the Government, the NEURC, and members of the Parliament for their joint approach to solving the accumulated problems.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working on comprehensive solutions that will enable supporting the DHCs and ensuring that communities have reliable completion of the heating season.
