UNIC comprises 48 Ukrainian and international companies committed to transparency, accountability, and integrity in business. The initiative was launched in 2017 with support from the Business Ombudsman Council, OECD, and EBRD. Its mission is to promote business integrity and help improve Ukraine’s business climate.
"Naftogaz consistently applies the principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability. Joining UNIC is both recognition of our efforts and an opportunity to exchange experience and collaborate with other responsible companies. We believe that only transparent and ethical business can drive sustainable development and earn public trust," said Roman Chumak, Acting Chairman of the Executive Board of Naftogaz Group.
On the path to joining UNIC, the company:
- successfully passed COSA compliance diagnostics;
- conducted a series of employee trainings;
- enhanced its conflict of interest management procedures;
- strengthened protections for employees reporting corruption;
- reinstated the Hotline.
Membership in UNIC opens new opportunities for Naftogaz, including:
- participation in national recovery and transformation processes;
- improved access to international markets;
- exchange of best practices in compliance;
- greater access to credit and investment;
- integration into a professional community and collective anti-corruption initiatives.
UNIC serves as an expert platform for implementing, promoting, and advancing standards of integrity and corporate compliance. The network’s activities are supported through grants from the UK’s FCDO, OECD, and EBRD, along with membership fees, charitable contributions, and other donations.
