The meeting was attended by IMF Mission Chief for Ukraine, Gavin Gray; Deputy Mission Chief, Trevor Lessard; IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine, Priscilla Tofano; IMF Deputy Executive Director for Ukraine, Vladyslav Rashkovan; and IMF Senior Economist, Heiko Hesse.
At the outset of the meeting, Chumak thanked the IMF for its longstanding and unwavering support for Ukraine.
He outlined Naftogaz Group’s ongoing efforts to safeguard energy sustainability and secure a stable heating season.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Naftogaz Group’s facilities have been targeted by 15 missile and drone attacks, he said. The production facilities have sustained significant damage, but the Group is doing everything possible to maintain operations and ensure gas supplies to consumers.
The situation is under control. Yes, it’s difficult, but not critical. Naftogaz continues to import gas in volumes necessary to balance the system and meet the needs of all consumer groups," Roman Chumak said.
He thanked IMF representatives for the open dialogue and the IMF’s continued support, expressing confidence in deeper cooperation to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience.
