Gas transit to Balkan countries to be resumed by 85-90% till 3 p.m. (local time) Wednesday

Today 5:55 a.m. Kyiv time the Combined Dispatcher’s Supervisory Control of SC "Ukrtransgas”, NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine”, was informed about the accident on the Ananiev-Tiraspol-Izmail gas-main pipeline (diameter 1200 mm) on the territory of Moldova.

Due to joint actions of the gas specialist of Ukraine and Moldova gas transit through this pipeline never ceased but was reduced by 30% for several hours.

The professional staff of SC «Ukrtransgas” and JSC “Moldovagas» is currently in the process of switching the gas flows to the adjacent pipelines Shebelinka-Dnepropetrovsk-Krivoi Rog-Izmail and Razdolnaia-Izmail (diameter 800 mm). Till 3 p.m. gas transit to Balkan countries will be resumed by 85-90%. The gas transit volumes are to be restored completely following the repairs of the damaged section that by the specialists’ estimates will take 2-5 days. The SC "Ukrtransgas” management offered technical assistance to JSC “Moldovagas" for the accident elimination.

Gas transit to Balkan countries such as Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, as well as Turkey, is 36 million cubic meters per day.
