Oleksiy Chernyshov: Naftogaz Group increases daily production at one of its fields by 300,000 cubic meters

Over the past month, Naftogaz's JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya has launched two production wells at one of the largest fields in Ukraine.

In total, these wells have added more than 300,000 cubic meters of gas to the company's daily production.

We are doing everything we can to increase our own gas production. This field is more than 50 years old, but thanks to new wells we have managed not only to stop the decline in production but also to achieve an increase in production performance. The field still has deposits with high residual potential. To unlock all its potential, Ukrgasvydobuvannya specialists are currently drilling and developing 10 more production wells," commented Naftogaz CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov.

Thanks to modern seismic surveys, the field has resumed additional exploration. This makes it possible to increase proven hydrocarbon reserve volumes. To this end, 5 new exploration wells have been designed with the first one already drilled.

In order to meet the production growth targets set for 2023, we are increasing drilling volumes at the fields where it is justified by geological conditions and technical and economic calculations. I am grateful to my colleagues that find new opportunities to increase production and implement them," commented Oleh Tolmachev, Acting CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya.

The drilling program for 2023 at this field was developed by experts of UkrNDIGaz, the Development Department of JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya, and GPD ShebelynkaGazVydobuvannya. Both wells were drilled by the Khrestysche Drilling Division of Ukrburgaz, with the fracking operation was performed by UGV-Service.

Background: in March 2023, Ukrgasvydobuvannya launched two high-flow-rate wells in Ukraine's Poltava region.
