Supervisory Board statement on appointments of Oleksiy Chernyshov as Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Roman Chumak as Acting Chairman of the Executive Board of Naftogaz

The Supervisory Board of Naftogaz congratulates Oleksiy Chernyshov, former Chairman of the Naftogaz Executive Board, for his appointment by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on December 3, 2024, to the position of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine — Minister for National Unity of Ukraine. National unity is vital as Ukraine prevails against aggression, and we wish him great success in his new position.   

We thank Mr. Chernyshov for his leadership of Naftogaz since his appointment by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in November 2022, and for his collaboration with the Supervisory Board since its appointment in January 2023.  Naftogaz Group accomplished a great deal during this challenging two-year period, due to the courageous work of our employees, effective management, and the support of the Ukrainian government. Looking forward, we are confident that Naftogaz will continue to contribute to Ukraine’s success. 

We are pleased to announce that Roman Chumak, CFO of Naftogaz, will assume the duties of Acting Chairman of the Executive Board, with full support from the Executive and Supervisory Boards of Naftogaz. Mr. Chumak will execute this responsibility until a new Chairman of the Executive Board is appointed. The Supervisory Board will conduct a global search for this appointment, which we aim to conclude by the end of Q1 2025.
