15th attack this month: Russia once again bombs a Naftogaz facility

On the morning of 27 January, Russian forces carried out an attack on a critical infrastructure facility of Naftogaz Group in Ukraine’s western region. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out at the site.

For safety reasons, in order to protect staff, and to prevent environmental pollution, the company’s specialists immediately halted technological processes at the facility. Rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are working at the site,” said Sergii Koretskyi, Chief Executive Officer of Naftogaz.

The response is being coordinated with local authorities and relevant services.

This was the fifteenth targeted bombing of critical infrastructure facilities of the Group since the beginning of this month alone.

Naftogaz continues to operate under conditions of constant military threat, focusing its efforts on personnel safety, minimizing the consequences of attacks, and maintaining the stable operation of the energy system.
