Ukraine briefs diplomats from 31 countries on the consequences of Russian attack on the Druzhba oil pipeline infrastructure

Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with Naftogaz Group, held a briefing for representatives of foreign diplomatic missions on the consequences of Russian attacks on Druzhba oil pipeline infrastructure.

Representatives of 31 countries took part in the event, including G7 countries and Ukraine’s European partners. Among the participants were ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine.

Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis and Naftogaz CEO Sergii Koretskyi addressed the participants.

We want our international partners to have a full understanding of the consequences of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Earlier today, we witnessed another massive missile and drone attack on many regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv. Despite this, Ukraine remains a reliable partner in safeguarding Europe’s energy security. That is why we initiated today’s meeting to highlight the real situation surrounding the restoration of the Druzhba oil pipeline,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis.

During the briefing, Naftogaz Group specialists presented diplomats with technical information on the condition of the infrastructure following the attack on the Druzhba oil pipeline. To provide embassies with the most comprehensive picture of the events, materials from the attack site were presented. These materials clearly show the technical damage caused by the strike, its impact on the operation of the system, and the measures required to restore the damaged facilities.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has carried out more than 400 attacks on Naftogaz Group facilities. In 2026 alone, more than 30 attacks have already been recorded. In particular, the January 27 attack on the Druzhba oil pipeline infrastructure caused significant damage. We have already provided our partners with technical information about the consequences of this strike, and during this meeting we were able to show more detailed materials from the site of the attack and explain the challenges our specialists are facing. Restoring such infrastructure is a complex technological process that requires time, specialized equipment, and the continuous work of teams even under constant threat,” said Naftogaz CEO Sergii Koretskyi.

Naftogaz Group, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, continues to inform international partners about the consequences of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and about ongoing work to restore damaged facilities.
