Naftogaz Group strengthens cooperation with international partners

Acting Naftogaz Chairman of the Board Roman Chumak met with diplomats from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Sweden, France, Japan, Italy, Norway, Denmark, Lithuania, and the EU Delegation to Ukraine in an effort to bolster partnerships amid ongoing geopolitical and energy challenges.

The high-level meeting was also attended by members of the Naftogaz Executive Board—Vasyl Volodin, Dmytro Abramovich, and Ivan Lukeria—as well as the heads of the Group's enterprises: Serhii Lahno, acting CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya; Roman Maliutin, CEO of Ukrtransgaz; and Oleksiy Havrysh, CEO of Ukraine’s first national gas distribution operator (Gazmerezhi).

Roman Chumak informed foreign representatives about the measures taken by Naftogaz Group to ensure the country’s energy sustainability. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, twelve enemy attacks have been carried out on the Group’s facilities. Despite all the challenges and losses incurred by the Group, its enterprises continue to mitigate the effects of shelling and restore operations to ensure a stable energy supply to all categories of consumers.

Naftogaz Group is looking to deepen ties with international partners across several key areas. The company is exploring opportunities to secure essential machinery and equipment for its enterprises, expand the use of Ukraine’s underground gas storage by foreign traders, and access grant funding or loan agreements.

Acting Naftogaz Chairman of the Board expressed gratitude to foreign governments for the support and assistance that Ukraine has received since the first days of the full-scale war and expressed hope for further cooperation with the Group's companies.

Roman Chumak also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its assistance in coordinating the meeting.
