Naftogaz and EBRD discuss cooperation to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience

Naftogaz Group and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) discussed potential financing for natural gas purchases and support for domestic production in the wake of ongoing Russian attacks.

These issues were the focus of a meeting between Acting Naftogaz Chairman of the Board Roman Chumak and EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso. The discussion included EBRD Vice President Matteo Patrone, Managing Director for Ukraine and Moldova Arvid Tuerkner, and Deputy Head of the EBRD in Ukraine Iryna Kravchenko.

Roman Chumak expressed gratitude to the EBRD for its continued support of Ukraine’s energy sector and the Group’s enterprises since the onset of the full-scale invasion.

Strengthening the country’s energy resilience in wartime conditions, ensuring a stable heating season, and providing gas to all consumer categories remain our key priorities. We appreciate the EBRD’s support and continue working together on financial instruments that will secure Ukraine’s energy stability," said Roman Chumak.

He also noted that in the current challenging environment, flexible and timely cooperation with international partners enables Naftogaz to respond effectively to crises and ensure uninterrupted energy supplies.
