"The city is under constant threat from possible shelling. Our task is to provide Kharkiv and the region's residents with gas and heat during the coming winter," commented the Naftogaz CEO.
Chernyshov praised the readiness of the region’s gas networks ahead of the heating season.
Interaction with the local authorities is very constructive. Despite the military risks and realities, Kharkiv continues to develop as much as possible under these conditions. Some of our cities that are not located in military zones or frontline regions have reason to envy the work of the local authorities in this regard," added Chernyshov.
"There are military risks, there are military realities, but today we are 100% ready for the heating season," assured Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov. "I am grateful to Oleksiy Mykhailovych (Chernyshov) for his appreciation of the work of utility companies."
At the same time, the readiness for the heating season in Kharkiv region remains subject to special attention due to the war, commented the Naftogaz Group head.
Kharkiv region's readiness requires special attention. The region has been preparing for this winter since the previous year. We have made the maximum preparation possible. Communities and community leaders have worked on this together. The regional military administration was constantly involved. It is now important that the residents of Kharkiv region are provided with natural gas supplies," said Chernyshov. "The main challenge is, of course, the military risks that unfortunately exist. However, gas distribution networks and Naftogaz Group have appropriate preparations to respond to possible challenges."
"The region is now fully prepared for the autumn and winter period. After last year's shelling, we restored the maximum number of destroyed buildings. We are continuing to do so," confirmed Oleg Sinegubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. "We need to tell everyone absolutely clearly that the coming winter will be difficult, the enemy will continue to terrorise the local population. However, we are ready to respond to emergencies and to provide heat to the residents of Kharkiv region."
During his working visit, Oleksiy Chernyshov also met with the staff of the Kharkiv branch and Kharkiv city branch of GAZMEREZHI.
