Naftogaz Group is developing cooperation with US energy companies in order to significantly increase domestic gas production in Ukraine. This was the key message from Naftogaz CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov in Washington DC on July 27 during a meeting with US Senate Energy Committee Chairman Joe Manchin.
I am grateful to Joe for the initiative to promote Naftogaz Group as an important player in the European energy market and the proposal to establish a closer dialogue with the American energy business," said Chernyshov.
The parties also discussed necessary steps to collect compensation from Russia for the seizure of assets in Crimea.
Oleksiy Chernyshov is currently on a business trip to Washington. He met earlier with representatives of leading international law firm Covington & Burling LLP, which will engage the services of American investigative company K2 Integrity to help collect $5 billion in compensation from Russia awarded by The Hague Tribunal over assets seized in Crimea.
