Yurii Tkachuk has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Ukrgasvydobuvannya. On 26 December, the new head of the company was formally introduced to the staff by Naftogaz CEO Sergii Koretskyi.
This is one of the most responsible management positions in the industry. A number of critically important tasks now stand before the new CEO. These include restoring facilities damaged by Russian attacks, as well as increasing gas production volumes through drilling new wells, carrying out major overhauls, introducing new technologies, intensifying production at depleted fields, and exploring new prospective areas,” Sergii Koretskyi noted.
Appointing permanent heads instead of acting managers at key Group companies is a task set by the Ukrainian Government, and Naftogaz is consistently delivering.

This approach is necessary to ensure stable and efficient operations. At the same time, I would like to thank the team for their extraordinary efforts in response to Russian bombing. You are facing these challenges with professionalism and resilience. It is now important to remain focused, united, and to continue working at the same pace and with the same sense of responsibility. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Sergii Lahno, who will continue working in the position of Chief Engineer,” the head of Naftogaz Group added.
Yurii Tkachuk has more than 25 years of experience in the energy and industrial sectors.
Since November 2022, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Ukrnafta, where he was responsible for financial strategy, risk management, and investment policy. From May to December 2025, he also served as Acting General Director of the company.
