The introduction of an energy market and the liberalization of energy prices are irreversible elements of Ukraine's energy industry reform. This will stimulate production efficiency and serve as a catalyst for additional investments, Naftogaz CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov commented during an October 26 appearance on Ukraine's United News TV platform to discuss the results of his recent participation in the Sixth German-Ukrainian Economic Forum in Berlin.
Thanks to investments following the launch of a Ukrainian energy market, in about 4-5 years Ukraine will be able to become a stable exporter of natural gas to Europe. This year, we are already able to rely on domestic gas production exclusively. With further production increases, reductions in consumption, and energy efficiency measures, we have every opportunity to become a stable exporter of gas to Europe," commented the Naftogaz Group CEO.
