Oliver Varhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, has positively assessed the Naftogaz commitment to transforming itself into a company that complies with OECD principles.
I welcome the work of Oleksiy Chernyshov in transforming Naftogaz into an OECD-compliant company to fully benefit from the European markets," Oliver Varhelyi posted on his Twitter page.
He also emphasized that Naftogaz is one of the EU's most strategically important partners contributing to Ukraine's rapid recovery.
On 28 March 2023, Naftogaz Group CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov met with Oliver Varghese to discuss the role of the energy sector in the implementation of Ukraine's European integration aspirations.
I was pleased to hear Mr. Varghelyi’s positive assessment of Ukraine's performance during the heating season amid the war. I told him about preparations for the 2023/2024 season, which have already begun. Increasing our own gas production as well as restoring and developing our infrastructure are integral components of this process," the Head of Naftogaz Group noted.
It should be recalled that Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, is on a two-day working visit to Brussels to meet with European partners and discuss the storage of their gas reserves in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities and joint projects for gas production in Ukraine.
