Naftogaz Group’s Ukrgazvydobuvannya has drilled and put into operation another high-rate well in eastern Ukraine that provides the country with an additional 230 thousand cubic meters of natural gas per day.
We were able to deliver this result at a gas field discovered more than 45 years ago, which had long been seen as having low potential. Upon application of updated approaches to data interpretation, the Ukrgazvydobuvannya development team discovered additional gas reserves in the subsoil. I am very grateful to all the employees who took part in these efforts," Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz Group, said.
Five more new wells are planned at this field to unlock the identified gas production potential in full.
Our goal is to produce at least 1 million cubic meters of gas per day at this field. This will be a significant contribution to the implementation of our plan to provide the whole of Ukraine with gas of domestic production during the next heating season," commented Oleh Tolmachev, Acting General Director of Ukrgazvydobuvannya.
Ukrgazvydobuvannya also recently drilled a new well with a daily flow rate of 580 thousand cubic meters of gas, which is the highest rate for wells drilled in recent years.
