On the night of August 9, Ukrnafta production assets and one of the company’s drilling sites came under massive attack.
In total, dozens of attack drones were deployed against production infrastructure. The attacks caused significant damage, with some equipment put out of operation. Operations at the affected asset have been suspended. Thanks to safety measures, employees at the attacked facilities were not injured.
On 7-8 August, seven filling stations operated by the Ukrnafta network in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv regions also came under enemy drone attack. Unfortunately, one filling station employee was injured in one of the Russian strikes. He is currently in hospital, where he is receiving all necessary medical care.
In addition, on August 8, Russia attacked Naftogaz production facilities in central Ukraine with jet-powered drones. At the time of the attack, personnel were in shelters. The targeted facility sustained serious damage.
Over the past few days, the intensity of Russian attacks on oil and gas infrastructure has increased significantly. It is clear that the enemy’s goal is to inflict maximum damage on Ukraine’s oil and gas production and other critical infrastructure in order to prevent preparations for the heating season. Our priority is to protect people’s lives and continue operating even under such difficult circumstances,” said Sergii Fedorenko, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Naftogaz.
